New Tribes Repack 10

Postby phantom » Sat Dec 11, 2010 5:49 am

Tribes Repack release 10 is out now. Get it here (459 MB).

PATCHES FOR REPACK USERS:
(The patches are only for updating old repack versions; if you do not have the repack, do not download them)
OLDER VERSIONS (Repack 1 to Repack 7) MUST USE ALL PATCHES IN ORDER
A patch to update older versions of the repack to version 8 is here (79 MB).
A patch to update version 8 to version 9 is here (1.2 MB).
A patch to update version 9 to version 10 is here (1.8 MB).

(On Windows Vista and Windows 7, the installer must be run as administrator in order to function.)

Changes in release 10 (December 11, 2010):
-Additional options in voice menu for local chat.
-Made a change to load two new volume files on startup, to fix a crash that happens if they aren't loaded.

Recent changes in my main RPG server (since last repack update):
-Added a top players list, currently shows the top 20 players sorted by remort level.
-Descriptions for various weapons have been expanded.
-"View your stats" has been reorganized and shows more information (such as level required to remort).
-Began work on adding another map, which will make the server repack-only. Repack 10 will be required to enter the map. Players with older repack versions after this is added, may experience crashing in certain areas.
-Mana now regenerates a little slower at high energy levels than it did before.
-Server now tells you when you last logged on, and from what IP address.

The only bad thing about downloading the Repack all at once is the slow download rate. But after four hours of downloading it, I am glad I did, you've done some amazing work phantom.

Yeah, I can't do much about the download rate. That's why I started making patches, so people who need to update won't have to download the whole thing over again.
