well you know wireless connections arent really wireless. you still have to connect it to the phone line and all that stuff only the difference is you may not have to connect it to the pc with calbes thats all and if you do that it might be somewhat faster(not much) but you might have some lags due to no receiving lol

Wireless connections are wireless enough, they are a connection that is wireless from the PC/laptop to the router. In some cases, like satellite http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_Internet_access), it's wireless to the satellite too. Oh, and not everybody uses a phone line. I use cable. It's getting pretty popular.

With average wireless connections being a maximum of 56 MB/sec (802.11G, but there are boosted versions that can double this rate) (a new incomplete specification, 802.11n, may lead to rates up to 540 MB/sec, there is now equipment available that uses this still incomplete specification), and wired connections being a maximum of 100 MB/sec (newer ones being 1 GB/sec), I think it is safe to say there is a very significant speed difference between the two; wired being faster. Wireless is handy when a wire will not easily reach the computer, or when you move the computer alot. Laptops, for example.

i think we use cable, but im not entirely sure. i think we have a phone line or the pc, but we dont have one for our house. we got rid of phones(cordless ones and such, thats what we used to have) and use a cell phone instead when people try to call us.
