The good old days

Postby eiggorT » Mon Jan 07, 2008 9:41 pm

Say(0, "Yeah... I miss them... I started off playing tribes at 6/7 years old when the demo came out, I miss all those hardcore nerds playing... and when TRPG was new... I miss that as well, rpgmap1 ftw! Tribes just isn't was it used to be... if only tribes vengeance hadn't sucked so much, then it would've been modded, quite likely to have an RPG mod, renegades, annihilation, all that good stuff, and maybe have had another game in the serires... but nope. Tribes is dying. There is nothing we can do to stop its death. And now I'm all depressed. There will never be another game like Tribes, and that makes me even more depressed. Oh well.. I guess I'll just have to find a new game. Any suggestions for the PC? Besides MMORPG.");

Meh, Tribes isn't going to die for quite a while yet.. It'll be kept alive. But nonetheless it had a good run.

Sucks that you had to rule out MMORPG, I had a good suggestion there.. Well, I can suggest all of the games in The Orange Box. They're great. Only downside is the Steam DRM it comes with.

By the way I'm moving this into the Video Games board.

i heard about some ascension game thats gonna be based on tribes, its gonna have jetpacks, inventory things, and pretty much everything tribes had, plus more vehicles and weapons and stuff, i dunno if it will be as modable as tribes.

but tribes is slowly dying, wish it wasn't, tribes was a good game. i got into playing it late though, and all the cool mods are never played, anhilation gets old after a bit.

I barely played Tribes. Only time I did was when Fantum threatened to do something bad to me if I didn't ^_^.

You could get into The Elder Scrolls series, both Morrowind and Oblivion have been heavily modded to do things the original game never really intended, it's been modded to allow more indepth combat (Decapitations and slicing bodies in half! Woooo!). If you prefer a shooter since that's more like Tribes, Halo 1 has a fair bit of modded maps thanks to Halo: Custom Edition, but they're pretty few and far between.
